San Antonio Zoo is lacing up for a milestone celebration—the 40th Annual Zoo Run, presented by H-E-B. Mark your calendars for Friday, September 5, and Saturday, September 6, 2025, and get ready for a wild race that combines fun, fitness, and a future for wildlife.

A Two-Day Celebration of Community and Conservation

The Zoo Run has become one of San Antonio’s favorite traditions, and this year’s 40th anniversary promises to be bigger than ever.

  • Adult Zoo Run – Friday, September 5, 6:00–9:30 p.m.
    • 2-mile relay (teams of four)
    • 4-mile individual race
  • Kids Zoo Run – Saturday, September 6, 8:00–10:00 a.m.
    • 0.25-mile race (ages 1–5)
    • 0.5-mile race (ages 6–11)

Each race will wind through courses alive with energy, giving participants a one-of-a-kind chance to run for fun while supporting San Antonio Zoo’s mission to secure a future for wildlife .

Race Perks for Participants

Runners won’t just get bragging rights—they’ll also take home commemorative race gear and enjoy exclusive extras:

  • Adult Race Perks: 2025 race t-shirt, drawstring bag, runner’s bib, lite bites and drinks, one complimentary admission ticket, plus access to the lively after-party in Runner’s Village.
  • Kids Race Perks: 2025 race t-shirt, drawstring bag, runner’s bib, and two admission tickets (valid for one child and one adult on race day).

Spectators can also join the fun—$12 spectator tickets are available for the Kids Run (limit six per participant with proof of registration) .

Early Bird Registration

To honor 40 years of this beloved event, San Antonio Zoo is offering a $40 Early Bird Special, available through July 31, 2025. Spots are limited, so signing up early is the best way to guarantee your place at the starting line .
