We’re thrilled to share that the San Antonio Zoo has welcomed a new addition to their animal family—a male okapi calf born on Saturday, September 2nd! This joyous arrival is especially meaningful as okapis are an endangered and elusive species.
The newborn’s proud first-time parents, Ludimi and Epulu, are buzzing with maternal and paternal instincts, exemplifying the zoo’s ongoing dedication to wildlife conservation and preservation.
For now, the young okapi is enjoying some private time bonding with his mom behind the scenes. The San Antonio Zoo promises to announce the calf’s public debut when he’s ready to step out and explore his new home. Stay tuned for more updates on this adorable new arrival!
